BIOFUEL INTAKE SYSTEM COTTAM POWER STATION

 

 

 

Project objective:

To intake a variety of bio fuel products at capacities up to 40 tph. This is to help satisfy the requirement for power stations to burn 10% bio fuel by the year 2010.

 

The Plan:

 

To supply a swan neck 40 tph model 600TT twin trace

conveyor to handle:

Sawdust bulk density 200 Kg/cubic metre at 40 tph

Crushed olive stone bulk density 1000 Kg/cubic metre

Coconut palm husk  bulk density 800 Kg/cubic metre

Particle sizes range from dust to 12 mm diameter.

The conveyor feeds into a pneumatic diverter valve to feed product onto either of the power stations main intake 1,200 ton per hour belt conveyors.

 

Equipment supplied:

 

Model 600TT twin trace conveyor

 

Overall length 27 Metres. The 7M long horizontal section

incorporates a 4.5M long metering inlet to suit a 4M long tipping hopper manufactured Game Engineering Ltd. The hopper is filled from a purpose built bunker using Caterpillar

bulldozers.

After the horizontal section there is a 12M inclined section at 30 degrees then 8M horizontal section with one end outlet.

 

The conveyor is manufactured in all galvanised construction for outdoor use.

 

Specification:

 

Very heavy duty for use 10 hours per day 365 days a year.

5mm thick drive and tail shells.

Trough bases 5mm thick.

Twin strands of 12,000 lb breaking strain roller chain.

Chain fitted deep flight bars due to inclined

operation.

15 Kw slow speed drive with Fenner gearbox suitable for inverter control.
