Perry manufacture a wide range of handling equipment options that can be used to fill a floor store.
1) A chain and flight conveyor positioned in the middle of the building apex at the highest point to give the best building fill. This is the cheapest option but there are a couple of drawbacks.
Firstly the highest heap of grain will only be under the outlet so the store fill will have peaks and troughs in between them.
Secondly access needs to be made to the outlet chains to operate them and this may mean climbing over heaps of grain.
2) A belt conveyor positioned in the middle of the building apex at the highest point to give the best building fill. This is the next cheapest option. The benefits of this option are, firstly with a tripper a belt conveyor can discharge all the way along a building at any position so there are no peaks and troughs. This helps to maximise the building fill. Secondly the tripper is winched along the building so there is no need to gain access to the building to move the tripper.
3) The final option is to use a travelling or levelling conveyor in conjunction with either of the above options. This conveyor travels up and down the building on separate tracks positioned in the roof. The benefit with this option is that the fill in the building is level across the entire building giving the maximum possible fill especially in lower farm buildings. It can operate automatically moving itself along the building so the store is filled without the use of a loader or member of staff. The grain is also un compacted so it is ideal for under floor ventilation or cooling.
